African Lion Safari

A few months ago I won a family pack of tickets to African Lion Safari in Canada. Since summer was QUICKLY coming to an end, once we got back from Colorado, we needed to get there! So off we went for the almost 2 hour ride! It turned out to be a pretty crappy day and rained the WHOLE time. Since we left at 9am to get there early, Colin wasn't ready for a nap and was pretty miserable for the first part of the trip. thankfully we did the bus ride through the reserves right away, so he got to enjoy that. he fell asleep while i was ordering our lunch, which worked out well, since that was the HUGE rainstorm, and we were able to stay under shelter and covered him up in his stroller. He is so big, somedays I forget that he is only 3 and is still a small toddler! Once he woke up and ate, he was ready to go again! Here are some pictures to enjoy!
The Elephant show - this was so cool, how they train these HUGE animals like they are dogs!
So bummed it was raining hard, these are monkey's up there. All curled together, you really can't see it though becuase they don't like the rain and ball up.
This pretty peacock was just strolling around with the visitors. I wished he would have opened his feathers.
Playing in the ball course. Suprised Colin enjoyed this.
The horns on these guys is actually what keeps them cool. The blood goes up into them to cool, then back down again. huh.. interesting.
Momma & Baby
These are Monkey prints on our windshield! How cute! We Loved the monkeys!
Here they are walking across the hood!
Yea, ugly bare bottom. ewwwww!!
Attack of the monkeys! Look at all of them!
This ostrich was CRACKING me up! He walked right along you, it amazes me how they think you are just one of them.
Mr Zebra
My Ostrich friend again. At first I had my window down, but then he kept coming closer and closer, so I has to hurry and roll it up and take the picture, so sorry it's blurry.
Giraffe!!
Bison - these guys were pretty neat too. they really do walk in a heard
LOL Yep, right in the middle of the road, walking RIGHT towards us!
Walking past my window.

This is the boat ride we got to take to see the babon monkey's on the islands.
Just an elephant strolling by..... He was on his way back from the elephant swim, which we missed becase it was raining out way to hard.
Colin and Daddy on the bus.

All in all we had a really fun time, and it was an experience I am SO glad we were able to have. We never could have done it had I not won tickets!
