Fall Family Time :-)

The Y had a Halloween family night this past October that we took full advantage of! This year really is so much fun with the boys really "getting" most things and holidays the older they get. This is one of the first years Caden has voluntarilary worn a costume. I let him choose what he wanted to be, then went on a scavanger hunt to find it. He was a pumpkin. Poor Colin, who only gets hand me down costumes was a Monkey :-) we had a really good time.

We got to paint pumpkins..... Lots to choose from!

Mommy & Colin. They had a non-scary haunted house for the kids, pumpkin painting, craft makings, lots and lots of games, bounce houses and even a magic show and costume contest!

Courtney, who is really starting to enjoy cooking, mentioned to my friend Pam, that she loves Pumpkin Pie. Pam then offered to teach her how to make it! It was H E A V E N L Y  to say the least. It was a lot of work, but all of us had a good time, and I always love new recieipies. Here are Pam and Courtney cleaning the insides out.

Oops. out of order. Here are our pumpkins from family night.

Courtney, working hard.

Seperating the seeds. She didn't like this too much. Nothing like getting 2 pies and a HOLE tray of seeds from a couple of small pumpkins!

Mixing the batter up.

Pretty Smile!

Before cooking. Doesn't it look delish?? it was! Even more so since we got to get it HOT with COLD Whip Cream.........
