18 Mile Bike Ride!

The Day after Col's Birthday we thought we'd go for a nice Bike ride. Some one else us that you could ride from UB North to Niwanda Park and it was only around 5  miles. WELL 9 miles later, we arrived! LOL Thank goodness we brought our wallet with us, so we could stop and eat lunch at Mississippi mudds and diapers and wipes for the kids too!! We hung out by the water for a while, then got back on the bikes and headed back to UB. We were HOT too. When we left the house at 9am it was 72, when we got back to the car at 2pm it was 91!! No wonder we were dying! It all made sense then! The boys fell asleep on the return trip and poor Mike feel asleep when we got home. I am LOVING being this active, 6 months ago I NEVER could have ran 5 miles let alone BIKE 18!!
Mike and I at the 6 mile mark. 3 more miles until we get to the park.
Lunch at Mississippi Mudds, and some much needed hydration!
Of course after lunch we got Ice cream! Love Col's new mustache and beard!
We took some nice relaxing time before we decided to bike it back.
This was on the way back. I had to stop quite a bit, my bike seat was hurting a Weeeee bit! LOL the boys were knocked out before we hit the first mile!

I keep trying to get Mike to go back, but no such luck yet. I'd like to try out some bike path's around here too soon!

Happy Birthday Colin! 3 years old!

Picture overload to follow!! We celbrated Colin's birthday with our closest friends and family for a small party. Birthday Part 1

Yep, I am WAY behind! Col's birthday was almost 3 weeks ago now. We celebrated a couple days early when Grandpa come over with his new Bike!! It's a Big Boy Cars Bike and he really loves it, As you can tell so does Caden!

Go Colin!!!

First Day of {summer} School!

Earlier this month Colin started school for the first time and Caden stared in a new school. It was a huge adjustment for both of them, but for the most part they've handled it ok. Caden has been pretty good at the new school and even says he like it's a little bit. he's been more aggressive at home, but it's a lot of change to go through.

This isn't much, but it's Caden on his bus taking off. Notice first Student lost the contract? yes, we now ride the competition's buses! LOL He was SO upset this day, I had to carry him in his seat and hold him down so they could buckle his seat. It was so sad. And Poor Col had to watch it all before his bus came!

Colin and I had a good 40 mins between the time Caden's bus came and his did, so we went to Tim Horton's got a drink and some donuts and hung out in the car. He was such a sport!!
He was QUITE a bit anxious by the time the bus came, can you tell?? LOL He got on the bus, and stood, and didn't even move. I had to give permission for the aide to carry him to his seat. I had to explain the anxiety and freezing etc.

All in all, they did have a good day. We are 3 weeks into school now with 3 more weeks to go until we have 2 weeks off. That should be fun, then Caden will be a real Kindergärdner!!

REMINDERS

I am only posting this here, so I can remember! These are some of my wish list items that at some point I'd like to get, If I don't post it here, I'll lose it and forget what it is!

So first off, I'd like to run a 1/2 marathon. As of right now, I've ran 4 5K's, 1 10K and a 4 mile chase. I do have 2 additional 5k's coming up, one today and one Saturday, In addition to many scheduled from now until November. I never in a million years pegged myself as a runner. Never thought it would be something that I would enjoy. I work best, when I have a goal to work towards. My new goal is run the Disney princess 1/2 Marathon in Walt Disney World, Florida, in February of 2012. Yes, I know that's far away, but we do need time to save up for such a trip, since we would obviously be making that our family trip for that year. The only one of us who has ever been to Disney is Mike, so the whole prospect of this is very exciting to me to not only vacation in Disney, but also to race there! So in order to work up to that goal, I found online a 1/2 marathon program for beginners! It's costly, so I can't buy it now. But am posting it here, so when I CAN get it, I can remember where I found it!

The LINK  To 1/2 marathon 12 week training program.

The other item I've been eyeing up for a while is the Garmin Forerunner 301 or 305 HERE  This will help push me in ANY workout! It tracks and record past and present workouts as well as monitor's your heart rate and calories burned, no more guessing!! Yay!!

I just liked the innocence of this picture. The boys are throwing stinks into the swamp at the end of the street.
