Weighted blanket has arrived!!

As we all know.. Caden needs to be weighted down at night in order to get any sleep- and it still doesn't usually work. We've tried 7-8 blankets, put the dog on top of him and many other tricks. In the end, I still end up having to touch his face and calm him to sleep. I asked my mom after doing some research to make Caden a weighted blanket, however after looking at the directions, and the materials needs, Meema decided it would be easier and cheaper to buy Caden the blanket. I found this great site, owned and operated by a grandma, whose grandson is autistic. She now makes blankets for children all over the place. You can pick your fabric from a huge selection to fit your child's need. You specify the weight you need the blanket to be and to work she goes. Each blanket is especially made for your child at the time the order is placed, so it's taken about 3 or 4 weeks to get the blanket, but it arrived today and we are SO excited! We've been telling Caden about it since we ordered it, so he was just as thrilled as us. I am hoping for a decent night's sleep tonight! Oh yea.. and the blanket is more beautiful then I imagined. You can tell she puts her heart into each one she makes. It is very well made and so special to us.

Vinyl Designs

So my friend Heather recently began her own vinyl design business. I remember when she told me of the idea and thought to myself, what the heck is that? She explained it to me and I thought anything that would make her happy and putting such a dream to reality is worth giving it a shot. I NEVER thought I would buy anything though! Since she's began, I think I have "tattooed" almost every room in the house! (Tattoo being mike's term)Every time I think I have done what I needed, I find more things I want to do, or more sayings I really want, just need to find wall space for! Eventually I'd love to put some sayings down in the family room in the basement, but that will come in time. I thought I would highlight her business and post all of the work she's done for us up until now. We love every bit of it and can't thank her enough for the effort she puts in it. We also have stick families for the back window of our vehicles, however it hasn't gotten warm enough outside yet, to be able to apply them. once I do, I will post them as well. If you would like to visit her business, I have the link posted on the right and side under favorites, or click here....

This is in our Back Hall, above the stairs going down to the basement family room. It's above a mirror- I couldn't get a good shot of the the whole wall because of the glare from the camera in the mirror- but you get the drift of it.
I actually saw this on an address label in a magazine I get, I loved it so much, I emailed the picture to Heather- and we created it from that. It's in the dining room, above the archway.
The actual words in the picture are not done by Heather- They were bought in Lancaster, PA last summer, but the hearts are done by Heather- I actually drew them, sent her the Jpeg imagine and she cut them for me!
These Butterflies are in our dining room

This Spider was a joke for Courtney, we hid it partially behind her curtain rod. It took her not long to find it and scared the Bejewels out of her too! PERFECT

Caden's Name in Royal blue & the Monkey done in Black

This in the living room above the pictures of the kids. It fit so perfect and looked amazing with the pictures. We still need to find a really good one of Courtney to get done in black and White- the one we have up is super old.
Colin's Room- His name done in Yellow and The frogs in Green.
His Frogs up close, done in Forest Green

Drop Your Drawers is over the Laundry Chute-bringing some humor to the hallway :-)
This Dream, Imagine & Believe is our bedroom. I LOVE it. Done in Burgundy

Colin Curls

His curls are not always this pronounced. Only after bath, and if they dry that way. Once he sleeps on it, they are done. I just think are so adorable!

Twillight Release

Here are the pictures from the Midnight DVD release of Twilight. I was glad that my neighbor Margie and her daughter Emily were with us as well, so the moms weren't too bored! The time really dragged along until about 11:20 then it started to pick up a bit. Before that though time seemed to be standing still! I was looking at my cell phone every 10 minutes. About 11:45 they lined up all the green wristbands (the pre orders) and at midnight they began to call the Pink bracelets in groups of 25. We were lucky enough to be in the 2nd group called and we cashed out just before 12:30am. So I was home by 1:00am. Courtney went home with Emily and they watched the movie until 3:00am, then headed to bed. It was an experience though and I am glad we did it. Margie and I were lucky enough to find to nice chairs back by the kids section, so we took up post there and that is where we stayed until it was time line up! They did have alot of fun things for the kids though, they had a Trivia game and a tough scavenger hunt as well!

Arriving there about 9:30pm
My Wrist band. They started calling numbers at 03500, so we weren't too far off at all!

Twilight CrAzY?

Part of Courtney's birthday present this year in additon to "The Wizard of Oz" on stage and dinner on Tuesday, is the Twilight DVD which will be released tonight at Midnight. Courtney has ever so slyly convinced me to take to the Twilight Pre-release party tongiht at Borders Bookstore from 10-12, and THEN to wait in line at midnight to "hopefully" get our copy of the movie. Am I NUTS? yep, I am. I stress the word hopefully since, when I called to preorder, the preorder were all ready used up, So I had to run out on my lunch, to get a wristband and wait in line by number and if there were copies left, we might get one!! I sure hope we do, if not I feel quite defeated, not to mention exhausted for NO apparent reason. I do after all have to be up with 2 little boys at 6:30 am! The things we do for our children.

Tomorrow night is my dad's retirement party as well. I think I see a nap with the boys in my future tomorrow.....
