December Family Night at the Y

We went to the Y tonight for the December family night. It was really nice. We had a craft table, where we made snowman ornaments for the tree. then we had a paint table, where the boys painted their hands to make a Christmas tree. You were supposed to use them as gift tags, but I made them into ornaments instead. Lastly, they each were able to decorate 2 cookies with frosting and candy. Colin of course ate all his candy while staring at the cookie :-) and Caden frosted, but wasn't too keen on putting the Candy on the cookie. Then Santa made an appearance! They asked what children wanted to go up and visit Santa, no one moved. All of a sudden Caden stood up and walked right up to him! We couldn't believe it! He has come so very far since starting this center based program in October! He NEVER would have done that 3 months ago. Yeah Caden! Colin was scared to death, and Courtney was too "good" for Santa :-) The kids then got to go in the adventure room where we played for about 30 minutes. Colin learned how to go down the twisty slide all alone! Then after much convincing, right before we left, Caden did it too! We really good a good time.
