Great Wolf Lodge ~ Niagara Falls, Ontario

This past Tuesday we took the kids out for Easter Break a couple days early and headed over to Canada to the Great Wolf Lodge- which is an indoor Water park within a hotel. We had a TON of fun and highly recommend it. It was a million times more fun then Splash Lagoon. Cleaner, friendlier, cheaper, bigger & much more to do when not in the water park! We had just a regular family suite, that was so nice and comfortable! It had 2 queen bed, and then separate by 1/2 wall was a little sitting area with a full size couch that opened up into a bed as well. So each kid ended up sleeping alone (since Col was in the pack and play anyway) and it worked out really well for us. That had an amazing buffet for dinner, which splurged on, being on a mini vacation and all! I can't begin to tell you have awesome the food was, so worth every penny spent. Everything is decorated lodge/outdoorsy like. Our bed were made from logs, as well as the table in the room, and all the railings all over the resort. Unfortunately it was 30 and snowing when we were there, but they also have an outside pool area and miniature golf. Each room has either a balcony or patio attached with sliding glass doors. There was a microwave, coffee pot and mini fridge, so we brought in all our own drinks and breakfast for Wednesday and took advantage of saving a few bucks, so worth it! In the water park area, there are bunch of restaurants as well.. a bar & grill as well as a Pizza hut express! (which even does room service until midnight!) There was a full service bakery and a separate coffee shop as well as the Trading post gift shop, which was more the size of an entire store. Then the buffet style restaurant was off of the main lobby, however they considered it a Living Room... They had couches everywhere, which a HUGE fire place, burning nice and warm 24 hours... they also had this neat interview thing for the kids.. with a talking moose, bear and groundhog (?) they had certain spots where you put your hands and it activated the animals to speak to you. Colin LOVED making the chipmunk pop up and down! There were wolves howling and birds tweeting, in addition to the crickets..... so relaxing. It was so pretty and Log Cabin like!

the water park had a TON of water slides! Almost all of them wound outside before coming back in. Courtney and Mommy's favorite one by far was the Roller Coaster water slide! You sat in a boat style raft and it went up and down a bunch of times before throwing you in the actual water slide part of it! Tons of fun! They had a separate kids area, with 4 different water slides, which of course, Col and Caden loved as well. Col went down the "big" kid water slide, which is a body slide that twists and turns just like an adult one, but a mini version. it was so funny to watch him come down, since he's so little and can't hold himself up, so he ended up flipping over and upside down, head first before getting to the bottom, thank goodness one of us was there to catch him! he came off laughing every single time! They had a wave pool, and activity pool, and a pool where you did "monkey bars by rope" across it as well. they had a HUGE fort with tons of water activities involved, it was about 3 stores high total. There was a family hot tub, lazy river and an "adult Only" hot tub, that began inside, then you walked though a little trap door to this HUGE outside hot tub. Ah.. it was so amazing!

They also have a fitness center (which i never found) and 2 spa's. Scoops, is a kids spa, and Elements, the adult version. And a Huge arcade as well! I'd love to go back again, but we'll have to wait until we get all the kids passports first, since that new law goes into effect on June 1st.

All in all we had a BLAST, and next time will stay 2 nights! Oh yea.... the best part? The bracelet you wore.. it was your room key, locker key, and room credit. So everything you do, you just swipe it and it gets charged to your room. You never have to have cash or a card on you, how perfect!!

I didn't get to take many pictures inside the water park... since I didn't want to get the camera wet-or lose it, so most of what is on here is from the windows you can view above, so it's MUCH larger then what you see here!

Great Wolf Lodge is awesome!!! It has been about 2 years since I went but I remember it being a very nice place. You really need 2 nights to see it all. I wish I could have done more, long story. Anyway, there is one in PA and 2 in OH if you don't mind the travel and don't want to deal with passports. Don't know what would be easiest and cost the least for you. The one I went to was in WI Dells, but that would be a long drive for you :-) I am glad you all had such a great time, and Caden slept this time :-)
