Colin's Big Boy Room

Since we had no cord to charge the camera for so long I just now remember that no one has got to see Colin's new big boy room! Originally we were hoping to do a frog theme, since he loves his "ribbits" however, no one has any cute little boy frog bedding. We planned on getting it made for us, but after taking all of material, shipping, etc into consideration, it would have ended up pretty pricey and we just didn't have the funding for that right now. Never mind the fact that his bed is a full size one, so of course everything for it is more expensive anyway! When we were pregnant with Caden, we bought him a convertible crib.Since we got pregnant with Colin when Caden was only 13 months old, he never had the chance to "transition" with it. The crib went to the new nursery for Colin's future use and Caden was transferred to a big boy bed before he was 18 months old. So since Colin recently learned how to climb out of the crib and refuse to stay in it, we thought it was time at almost 2 years old for the big boy bed. So we ordered him mattresses. While waiting for them to arrive, we converted it to the Day Bed and then to the full size bed 2 weeks later. After browsing Craigslist one afternoon, I found an Olive Kids Construction Bedding quilt, curtains and pillow shams for super cheap! I ended up paying less then $80 for the whole set. There was a lamp that came with it as well, but we skipped that one. So it has been all set up now for about 2.5-3 weeks and Colin loves it. So do we! It's looks more "big Boy" like now and the bed is super comfy. The best part is that the crib we spent $400 on 4 years ago, will now stay with us for at least the next 15 (hopefully, but I can't imagine why not) What a great deal. Those convertible cribs, sure are worth the money, especially when it's the full size that it can convert too. Unfortunately we realize much much more with this size how small our bedrooms are, but oh well. We are here to stay, so deal with it. After all, you only sleep in there anyway right?
