Last Cheer Competiton of 2009

So Proud of her medal!

The girls as usual did an amazing job! Considering the season they've had with injuries, they deserve to extra rewarded! Not only did Allison break her collar bone at the beginning of September - But this past Tuesday night Angel, broke her elbow and required SURGERY! Yes, it was that bad, and they had to bring her to the hospital via ambulance *sigh* what a season it's been. That same night, Courtney (who is at the bottom of the mount) got slammed down in the far and onto her back by the flier while there were in mount *whew* luckily no serious injury there, but she was pretty sore for the night and next day.

Who said Cheerleading wasn't a sport??

Due to the fact that Angel was very injured and not able to compete today, the team had just over and hour to revamp the entire cheer to be competition ready! That is NOT alot of time, when they've been practicing the SAME cheer 3 times per week for 2 months ~ now move people around??? So the girls placed 3rd this time around and got medals, which I think is wonderful - They deserve that regardless if you ask me, placing or not. Now we're done with Redskins cheer for awhile. We have the banquet to look forward to in December, and in the mean time, Courtney starts practice for the upcoming tryouts for the Depew Wildcats Modified Cheer team! (For school) those tryouts are next Saturday, and regardless if she makes it or not, it's the effort that she puts forth that counts! Go Courtney!
