Depew Egg Hunt

The Village of Depew, Finally decided to do an egg hunt for the kids this year. YEARS ago they did it, and it was huge, the whole park. Not so much anymore. Since it's been decades since they've done it. This was the 1st annual. It was at Firemans park in Depew. I figured they'd have eggs hidden all over the park, since it's so huge, but they only had this little area set up, with wood shaving, and had eggs hidden in it. I don't think they were expecting nearly as many kids as showed up.  They did it by ages, which helped. they did 5 and under, and 6-7 then 8 and over I think? Anyway. Colin was in the first group.
I couldn't see him, so I was just hoping I'd get a picture. Hm.. I don't see him in there though. LOL

He eventually came out, and did manage to get 2 eggs, so that was cool.

Regardless of how many eggs you found, each child got a little bag filled with goodies, so that was great planning on their part. The boys LOVED it.

Here's Caden waiting for them to get the eggs mixed in so his group can go

Caden still has a lot of social difficulties, so he doesn't want to mingle with larger groups of kids. He sure wasn't going to dive in like everyone else did.
He just kept walking the perimeter until he found an egg! Can you see him back there? In the very back, with the blue jacket on.
In the end, he did get one egg! So he was more then happy to collect his prize :-)
Caden was THRILLED that there was a pencil in the bag. I am glad we did this one. And look forward to it being bigger and better next year. Social setting are always at the top of my list for both boys!
